Tour Plan

Upon arrival at the airport, the company vehicle will warmly welcome you and be transferred to the hotel in Kampala to rest, experience the night life in Kampala and hospitality of the Kampala dwellers. Then prepare for the trip.

Very early in the morning we shall set off to Fort Portal City which is found in Kabalore district in Western Uganda which is 294Km away from Kampala and it’s a 5hrs drive. On our way, we shall have various visits and stops to different physical and geographical features.

  • Stop Over 1: Out crop rocks in Mubende

These are exposed small rocks of various shapes formed by weathering and erosion commonly appear at the nearby hills like 40m on a road side. We shall spend 20 – 30 minutes then proceed with our journey.

 

  • Stop Over 2: Tea plantation in Kabalore and Kamwenge

These are large scale plantations of tea employing a number of tenants nearly majority the locals and the activities carried out include tea harvesting with the basket. There are 3 types of tea grown i.e. black tea, Oolong and green tea. You can here take pictures of the beautiful tea plantations with a view of the green backgrounds. Duration time is 40mins and we proceed.

 

  • Stop Over 3: Mpanga River

This is the only river that passes through the Fort Portal town, it’s formed by river meandering due to meanders in the river channel. You can take pictures and we proceed, duration is 40mins.

This is the tourist city of Uganda and it’s taken to be the cleanest city in Uganda. This city is largely occupied by the Batooro people because it’s found in Tooro Kingdom. The people in Fort Portal are so welcoming and they have got pet names like Akiki, Amoti and Abwoli. You can take pictures and proceed, duration is 40mins.

  • Stop Over 1: Tooro Kingdom

This evolved of Bunyoro Kingdom. It was formed in 1830 when Omukama Kaboyo Olimi I, the oldest son of Omukama at Bunyoro Nyamutokwa Kyebambe III of Bunyoro seceded and established his own independent kingdom.

 

  • Stop Over 2: Amabeere Ganyamwiro

These are believed to be the previous birth place of the king of the Bachwezi, the caves are named after the king that cut off the daughter’s breast to make her less attractive to men. The king’s plan however failed and the daughter got pregnant, he hit her in these caves. There are different breasts for the old lady, the youth girl and the dog tits.

While at these caves, there are also Nyakasura falls which are so amazing and have unique poring, it’s only 8Km from Fort Portal city. Duration is 1hr while taking pictures and exploring.

 

  • Stop Over 3: Lake Kigere & Lake Wabikere

These are very close to the Amabeere caves and we shall hike with the guide to these lakes, they are all craters formed by volcanicity.

Lake Kigere is known for its physical appearance like a port and it’s good for swimmers.

Lake Wabikere is known for having a variety of flogs that’s why it was named after flogs i.e. lake wabikere. At around 7pm, will be transported to the hotel in Fort Portal foe example Ndari Lounge, Nyika Hotel etc. among others.
